If you’ve talked to us in the past, then you know that we have been working on a ‘virtual yard sale’ to help us sell a ton of stuff that has been inherited over the years. We have everything from bedroom sets to swizzle sticks!
And finally… THE SITE IS ALIVE!
Yes, the site is now live and we’ve started posting things up there! You can check it out at your leisure (and don’t have to worry about bad weather).
Some people had asked about furniture and suitcases. Well, they are up there now! Others asked about jewelry. That is coming up soon. And a whole lot more! If you have anything in particular that you are looking for, just let us know and we’ll dig around for it.
Some notes and hints about the site…
- The site is found at https://tilgen.7BRD.com (Note that it starts with ‘tilgen’ and not ‘www’.)
- We chose the name “Tilgen” because it means “to redeem” in German… as we hope to ‘redeem’ some space in the house.
- The site is open 24/7. We’ll also have some yard sales (probably not again until 2021) If you want to see something, let us know and we can make an appointment for you.
- We’ll try to weed out sold things as quickly as possible. (And hopefully won’t often forget where we put something.)
- Items may be cross-posted on eBay, Craigs List, Facebook Marketplace, etc. (Keep in mind that the prices on eBay will be higher to cover their charges.)
- Speaking of prices… Some items will have a “Valued at” price. That is the price that we’ve found it (or similar) going for online or in shops. Oh yes… If you don’t like the “Buy it Now” price, then send us a bid. As long as it is reasonable, I’m sure we can make something work (especially if it is for a good cause).
- Items may be listed in multiple categories. (e.g. A 1905 Whatzis statue might be in Antiques, Collectibles, and Knick Knacks.)
- Everything has an item number to help us both keep track of it. You’ll find it on the picture, in the description, and listed as the ‘phone’ number. (Don’t ask why it says ‘phone number’ and not ‘item number’. You have no idea how hard I tried to fix that. <sigh> )
- The postings have the posting month in the description. That way, you can search for a month and just see the new stuff.
- Found something that you like? Great! Just click “Contact Seller” and let us know! Have a comment or question? Use the “Contact Us” under “About Us”.
- Shipping isn’t included. We’ll arrange for a meet up somewhere around the area. If you need something shipped, we’ll figure it out then.
- We can accept cash, PayPal, Venmo, and even credit cards (unfortunately, we have to add 4% to cover their handling charges).
Well, that pretty much does it. We’ll put out an email periodically to let you know when a bunch of new stuff goes up, when we are having another yard sale, or if something important happens.
