It’s ALIVE!!!

If you’ve talked to us before, you know we’ve been working on ways to reduce the mountain of “stuff” we’ve inherited over the years. When you’re dealing with everything from bedroom sets to swizzle sticks, you need all the help you can get!

During COVID, when we couldn’t gather in person, the idea of a “virtual yard sale” was born. A beta version of the site went live a couple of years ago, but life and work slowed us down. Now we’re back in full swing—our back-burner project is finally on the front burner and starting to boil! The best part? You can browse anytime, at your leisure, without worrying about bad weather.

We’ve already added a wide variety of items online: furniture, collectibles, suitcases, antiques, toys and games, kitchenware, clothing, electronics, holiday décor, and more. And this is just the beginning—jewelry, tools, records, and even an entire book section are on the way. Looking for something special? Just let us know, and we’ll dig around for it.

A Few Notes About the Site

  • The site is located at https://tilgen.7BRD.com (note that it starts with tilgen and not www).
  • We chose the name Tilgen because it means “to redeem” in German—our goal is to redeem some space in the house.
  • The site is open 24/7. If you see something you’d like to check out, contact us to set up an appointment. We’ll also be hosting yard sales with friends in Spring City, PA.
  • Sold items are removed quickly, and we’re working hard to catalog everything so nothing gets lost again.
  • Items may also be cross-posted on eBay, Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, and other platforms. (Keep in mind that eBay prices will be higher to cover their fees.)
  • Shipping isn’t included. We usually arrange meet-ups west of King of Prussia, PA. Longer-distance deliveries may be possible if convenient, and shipping can be worked out if needed.
  • Payment options include cash, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, and credit cards (note: a 4% fee applies to credit card transactions).

Helpful Hints

  • Many items include a “Valued at” price, based on what we’ve found online, in shops, or through the Curio app. The “Buy It Now” price is what we’re asking. Think it’s too high? Send us a bid—if it’s reasonable, we’ll work with you (especially for a good cause).
  • Prices are based on collector value. That rare 1957 toy may look like a $2 trinket, but it’s actually a collectible worth much more.
  • Items may appear in multiple categories. For example, a 1935 Whatzis radio might be listed under Antiques, Collectibles, Electronics, Furniture, and Music.
  • Every item has a number to help us track it. You’ll see it in the border of the photo, in the description, and even listed as the “phone” number (a quirk of the plugin). The three-letter prefix is the batch number, which we’ll note in our posts so you can search for the latest listings.  (Books have a “Subject – Batch” prefix.)
  • Found something you like? Click “Contact Seller” in the listing—it will automatically tell us which item you’re asking about. For general questions or comments, use the “Contact Us” link under “About Us.”

Stay Connected

We post new listings on Facebook and notify our email list when fresh batches go live, when yard sales are scheduled, or when something important happens. If you’re not on the email list yet, join it! Until then, keep checking the site and stay in touch.

Stay safe, healthy, and positive!
